Kathleen Haughney

Kathleen Haughney is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in research and journalism. At Florida State University since November 2013, Kathleen has held several positions, including Director of Research Communications, Assistant Director for Research Communications, and Research Media and Content Specialist, focusing on making scientific research relatable to the public. Prior to this role, Kathleen served as a Statehouse Reporter for the South Florida Sun Sentinel and The News Service of Florida, covering key legislative issues such as gambling and health care. Additional experience includes internships and reporting roles with notable organizations such as the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Stateline.org. Kathleen holds an M.A. in Public Affairs Reporting from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Penn State University.
