Ilias Stathatos has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism. Ilias started their career as a journalist in Dromos Newspaper, where they worked as a Senior Editor from October 2014 to August 2015, focusing on economic and labor reportage. Ilias covered various industries and interviewed workers, managers, and trade unionists. Ilias also reported on employment and social insurance laws and analyzed European Union employment and economic trends.

In 2016, Ilias worked as a Journalist for The Press Project, International English-language Edition, and as a Copy-editor and English translator for DevelopGreece. Ilias then worked as a UK Correspondent for Dromos Newspaper, where they wrote a regular column called "The Brexit Diaries," reporting on the economic, political, and social situation of post-EU-referendum Great Britain. Ilias interviewed migrant cleaners and reported on their working conditions and struggles for employment rights. Ilias also covered London's grassroots gig economy trade union activities and reported on gig economy employment relations and industry trends. Ilias received an excellent reference letter from the newspaper's senior editor.

In 2017, Ilias worked as a London Stringer for To Vima newspaper and as a Data Journalist for mega channel. In 2018, they joined the Mediterranean Institute for Investigative Reporting as a Data Journalist. Ilias then worked as a Data Journalist for Fortune Greece from April 2019 to January 2020. In their role, they utilized data to uncover and report on various topics.

Most recently, Ilias has been working as a Support and Newsrooms Administrator for Flourish since January 2020. This role involves providing support and assistance to newsrooms, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication.

Throughout their career, Ilias has demonstrated a strong passion for investigative journalism and data-driven reporting. Ilias has experience working with various media outlets and has gained a deep understanding of economic, political, and social issues in Greece, the UK, and the European Union.

Ilias Stathatos has a diverse education history. In 2008, they enrolled at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, where they pursued a degree in Sociology, with a focus on Social Sciences. Ilias successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2015.

In 2016, Ilias moved on to Birkbeck, University of London, where they undertook a Master of Arts in Investigative Reporting. Ilias was awarded the prestigious Google Investigative Fellowship during this time. Ilias completed their Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies in 2017.

In 2018, Ilias attended the Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism for the Lede Program, where they received the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Fellowship. The program allowed him to explore Data Journalism, Programming, and Visualizations. Ilias successfully completed the program in the same year.

Furthermore, Ilias has obtained additional certifications to enhance their skills and qualifications. In 2016, they obtained an IELTS certification from the British Council. Additionally, in 2018, they completed the Lede Program for Data Journalism at Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism, further demonstrating their dedication to expanding their knowledge and expertise in the field.
