Sophia Casey is an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis, pursuing a B.A. in Biology-Neuroscience with a minor in Italian. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the McDonnell Genome Institute, Sophia is involved in investigating TIR domain proteins in pathogenic bacterial genomes using computational methods. In addition, Sophia contributes to Flourish Labs as a member of the Peer Advisory Committee and works as a Clinical and Product Intern on marketing and product design projects. Sophia has experience tutoring an international student in English and has held leadership roles within the Association of Latin American Students, coordinating service opportunities and events for the Latinx community. Previous internship experience includes a summer role at Flourish Labs, focusing on competitive analysis and feature testing for the håp app.
