Technical Sourcing Lead at FlowBelow Aero

Roberto Urista has worked in various engineering roles for the past 20 years. Roberto began their career in 2000 as a Manufacturing Engineer for General Motors North America, Inc., where they supported the initial installation of various flexible manufacturing tooling, robots, and material handling equipment. Roberto then moved to Fallbrook Technologies in 2010 as an Application Engineer and Product Development Engineer, providing engineering and technical support for installation, testing, and controls of several CVT platforms for domestic and international customers. In 2015, they joined FlowBelow Aero, Inc. as a Technical Sourcing Lead, performing site visits to potential and current suppliers in the U.S. and Mexico to audit/evaluate them in order to qualify them as approved vendors. Roberto also managed various tool builds and modifications, performed in-depth analysis of manufacturing methods, managed vendor moves, and transitioned from using all steel mounting components to aluminum. As a Product Development Engineer, they collaborated with OEMs and truck fleets to improve current product lines and bring new products to market, developing/designing aluminum and composite mud-flap hangers for Class 8 trucks, and inventing a self-aligning mud-flap hanger base.

Roberto Urista received their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Lawrence Technological University in 2010. Prior to that, they attended Oakland Community College from 2001 to 2004, studying Electrical Fields Technology.
