Nicholas Lane

Nicholas Lane is a highly accomplished academic and industry professional currently serving as a Professor at the University of Cambridge since May 2020, where roles include Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer. Nicholas is also a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Flower Labs and a Fellow at St John's College, Cambridge. In addition, Nicholas serves as an Advisory Board Member for LEX AI. Previously held significant positions at Samsung Electronics as Laboratory Director for Samsung AI in Cambridge and Program Director for On-Device and Distributed AI, as well as Associate Professor at the University of Oxford. Nicholas's earlier experience includes roles as Principal Scientist at Nokia Bell Labs and Senior Lecturer at UCL, along with a position as Lead Researcher at Microsoft Research. Nicholas completed a PhD in Computer Science at Dartmouth College and holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Cornell University and The University of Waikato, respectively.
