Lara Freeman

Lara Freeman, MBA has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Lara is currently working as the Senior Director of Environmental Compliance at Flowers Foods & Subsidiaries since January 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Principal - Water US South Region at Stantec from September 2019 to January 2023. Lara also worked as a Senior Technical Director at AKRF from August 2018 to September 2019. Before that, they served as an Infrastructure Project Manager at Tetra Tech from July 2017 to August 2018.

Their previous roles include being the Louisville Utilities Infrastructure Leader at Burgess & Niple from May 2014 to July 2017, Water Resources Group Leader at The Kleingers Group from September 2013 to May 2014, and Project Manager at URS Corporation from November 2007 to August 2013.

Lara also gained considerable experience at the City of Toledo, where they worked as a Chemist/Bacteriologist/Environmental Specialist/Brownfields/Stormwater/Pretreatment from September 2000 to November 2007. Lara was responsible for chemical and microbiological testing and treatment of drinking water, as well as managing various environmental programs.

Earlier in their career, Lara worked as a Lab Technician QA/QC at the American Red Cross. Lara also served as a Lab Technician in the Microbiology and Immunology Department, as well as the Anatomy and Physiology Department, at UTMC (Formerly Medical College of Ohio).

Lara Freeman has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Microbiology, General from Bowling Green State University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1999. Later, in 2008-2009, they attended Wayne State University for Urban Planning studies. Currently, Lara is pursuing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Northern Kentucky University, which they started in 2019 and is expected to complete in 2022. Along with their academic background, Lara has also obtained certifications such as PACP/LACP & MACP User from NASSCO in March 2016 and the ARCSA certification from the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (year and month unknown).
