Mark R. Tompkins

Mark R. Tompkins is the Principal and Founder of FlowWest, LLC, a consulting firm located in Oakland, CA, specializing in water and aquatic ecosystem data science. With extensive experience in water resources engineering and ecosystem management, Mark previously served as a Senior Technologist at CH2M HILL and as Principal Engineering Geomorphologist at Newfields River Basin Services, LLC. Mark has also owned a writing and photography business since 1998, focusing on river ecosystem conservation and fly fishing. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
