Wilhelm van Butselaar

Wilhelm van Butselaar has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Wilhelm started their career in 1994 at Deutsche Bahn as an Electrician for High Voltage Equipment, where they worked on overhead lines of railway tracks and maintained power electronics. Wilhelm also served as an Apprentice Power Electronics, overseeing the installation and maintenance of electrical systems in various locations. In 2001, they briefly worked as a Student and Technician at ITER - Instituto Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables, S.A. Following that, they joined SMA Solar Technology AG in 2004 as a Product- and Sales Manager Off-Grid. Wilhelm then worked at SMA Australia from 2008 to 2016 as a Director of Sales for Hybrid Energy Systems. In 2016, they joined SMA INDIA & SEA as a Director of Sales for South East Asia. In 2017, they joined Wärtsilä as an Area Manager for Energy Storage and Optimization until 2023. Currently, they serve as the VP of Growth and Business Development APAC at Fluence.

Wilhelm van Butselaar obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Power Electronics and Renewable Energies from the University of Kassel in 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Technician for Power Electronics certification at Oskar-von-Miller-Schule Kassel from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, they hold several additional certifications including a Master of Science in Remote Region Energy Supply Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Power Electronics of Wind Turbines, both from the University of Kassel. Wilhelm also obtained a Certified Electrical Technician certification from IHK Frankfurt am Main in 1998.
