Fernando Marçal

Fernando Mar is a medical professional currently serving as an Otolaryngology head and neck surgery resident at Hospital de Braga since January 2019. Prior to this role, Fernando completed a General Medical Residency at Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos. Fernando has a strong research background, including a postdoctoral fellowship at i3S - Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, where the focus was on sensory dorsal root ganglia neurons under the supervision of Doctor Mónica Sousa. Fernando also held a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Universidade do Porto, specializing in central axon regeneration and animal modeling, and has experience as an Invited Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Fernando's educational credentials include a Master's degree in Medicine and a Licentiate degree in Biochemistry, both obtained from Universidade do Porto.
