Michael Bailey

Michael Bailey is a seasoned professional in translation and linguistic quality assurance with a focus on banking and finance. Currently at Finanzmarktaufsicht (FMA) since September 2014, Michael specializes in German to English translation relating to Banking Union and Banking Supervision, particularly within the framework of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). Previously, from April 2003 to September 2014, Michael served as Executive Secretary at SUERF - The European Money & Finance Forum, where responsibilities included organizing conferences and workshops across Europe on monetary issues. Michael's earlier experience includes freelance translation and leadership roles within the Austrian Cricket Association. Educated at the University of St Andrews with an MA(Hons) in French and German, Michael brings a robust linguistic background complemented by various educational qualifications in sports management and professional language use.
