Kimmo Soramäki has a diverse work experience. Kimmo is the Founder & CEO of FNA, a fast-growing technology company specializing in Supervisory Technology and Regulatory Technology. Kimmo also served as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Network Theory in Finance, an interdisciplinary journal focusing on the application of network theory in the field of finance.
Prior to this, Kimmo Soramäki worked as a Visiting Researcher at Norges Bank and the Bank of England, where they conducted research on interbank payment systems, CCPs, and liquidity. Kimmo also had the opportunity to advise several central banks and FMIs on understanding interconnectedness in the financial system during their time at Soramaki Oy. Additionally, they worked as an Expert at the European Central Bank, where they analyzed and prepared Eurosystem policies for market infrastructures.
Kimmo Soramäki began their career as an Economist at the Bank of Finland, specializing in payment systems. Kimmo developed the BoF-PSS payment and settlement simulator, which gained international recognition and is used by 60 central banks and research institutions worldwide. Before entering the finance industry, they served in the Finnish Defence Forces as a Long-range Reconnaissance Sergeant.

Kimmo Soramäki's education history begins with their high school diploma, which they received from Deutsche Schule Helsinki from 1982 to 1992. Kimmo then pursued a Master of Science in Economics, specializing in Finance, from Aalto University, which they completed from 1994 to 2000. Later, they continued their studies at Aalto University and obtained a Doctor of Science in Technology, focusing on Systems and Operations Research, from 2004 to 2012.
