Nghia Nguyen

Senior Signal Processing Engineer at FocalPoint

Nghia Nguyen has a strong background in signal processing and research. Nghia began their career as an intern at the Center for Development of Information Technology in 2001. From 2002 to 2005, Nghia worked as an R&D engineer at the Research Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, where they developed software for simulating and designing DWDM networks. Nghia then moved to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they served as a research assistant from 2005 to 2012. During this time, they gained experience in signal processing. Nghia later joined the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a postdoctoral research associate from 2012 to 2014. Nghia then joined the University of Cambridge as a senior research associate, where they focused on developing signal processing and beamforming algorithms to improve ultrasound image quality. Nghia also held the role of Rokos PDRA at Queens' College, Cambridge from 2020 to 2022. Most recently, Nghia has been working as a Senior Signal Processing Engineer at both Chelton and FocalPoint, starting in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

Nghia Nguyen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications and Electronics from Hanoi University of Technology between 1997 and 2002. Nghia then pursued further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2005 to 2009. Continuing their academic journey, Nghia earned a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies between 2009 and 2012.
