Joseph R. Karel

Joseph R. Karel has almost two decades of experience in the turnaround management industry. Joseph R. held various senior management and business development roles at Focus Management Group, where they served as the Managing Director since 2012. Prior to that, they worked at the Turnaround Management Association from 1995 to 2012. At TMA, they held the positions of Director of Fund Development and Conference and Seminar Coordinator, where they oversaw marketing opportunities, non-dues revenue streams, and national conference planning.

Joseph R. Karel earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Columbia College, where they studied from 1988 to 1994. Joseph R. later pursued a Certificate in Fundraising Management from DePaul University, where they enrolled from 1999 to 2001.
