Megan Williams has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2014, they worked as the Director of Advocacy at Americans for Democracy and Human Rights in Bahrain, where they developed and executed legislative and advocacy strategies. In 2015, they moved on to become a Senior Development Consultant at the World Bank Group. In the same year, they also established their consulting firm, M.Williams Consultants, where they served as the Chief Executive Officer, providing research, strategy development, and conflict resolution services to international clients.
In 2018, Williams transitioned to TradePost USA, where they held the position of Senior Vice President of Trade and Development until 2022. During their time there, they played a key role in trade and development initiatives. In 2019, they joined Business Finland as a Senior Advisor, specializing in energy, sustainability, and climate change solutions. Simultaneously, they served as an Adjunct Professor of Sustainability and Global Affairs at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Williams continued their career in the public sector as a Senior Energy and Sustainability Analyst at the United States Department of Defense in 2022. Megan then joined Focused Energy Inc. as the Vice President of Government Relations later that year. Additionally, they became a Member of Chief, an organization supporting women in leadership.
Throughout their career, Williams has demonstrated expertise in government relations, sustainability, energy, trade, and advocacy. Megan has worked with notable organizations such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the European Union.
Megan Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Sociology/International Relations from Spelman College. Megan also obtained a Master's degree in Development Economics and International Development from the University of Geneva. Megan has a Global Master's degree in International Relations and Conflict Management from Webster University. In 2011, they attended Harvard University as a Fellow, focusing on Conflict Resolution and Negotiation. Megan has also studied U.S. Foreign Policy at the American University. Additionally, they completed a Certification in Mediating International Violent Conflict from the United States Institute of Peace. Megan's education also includes participation in the Program on Forced Migration Studies at the Oxford Department of International Development.
