Shavina Chau

Shavina Chau has worked as a Software Engineer at Focused Labs since August 2021. Before that, they worked at IT.com from March 2020 to July 2021, where they were involved in designing and building a low-code app building platform integrated with Slack. Shavina also deployed serverless infrastructure with AWS Lambda, APIGateway, and DynamoDB, constructed back-end APIs using TypeScript, Javascript, and Node.js, and built the front-end UI and features with TypeScript and React. Shavina also worked as a Software Engineer at Appian Corporation from August 2019 to January 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Tech Caller at MIT Annual Fund from September 2015 to May 2019. Shavina also served as the Publicity Chair and Social Chair at MIT Next House Executive Council from January 2018 to February 2019 and January 2017 to February 2018, respectively. In addition, Shavina gained experience as a Residential Tutor at MIT Women's Technology Program in June-July 2018 and June-July 2017. Shavina was also a participant in the MIT Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program from September 2016 to September 2017 and a Student Mentor at MIT CodeIt! from October 2015 to December 2016.

Shavina Chau attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2019. During this time, they pursued two Bachelor of Science degrees. Their first degree was in Computer Science and Engineering, while their second degree was in Comparative Media Studies.
