Chia Kang

Chia Kang is a legal professional with extensive experience in recruiting and strategic growth within law firms and government legal departments. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Lateral Recruiting and Strategic Growth at Foley Hoag LLP since August 2023, Chia previously held the role of Senior Lateral Partner Recruiting Manager at Ropes & Gray LLP from May 2010 to August 2023, where responsibilities included managing recruitment efforts for lateral partners and counsel. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Director of Legal Recruitment at the New York City Law Department from September 2000 to May 2010, where Chia oversaw the review of approximately 7,000 applications annually, and as Assistant Corporation Counsel, representing the City in various litigations. Chia has also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Hunter College and held various roles at the New York City Bar Association. Chia holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law and dual BA degrees in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Southern California.
