Gary Hensley

Gary Hensley is a seasoned education technology executive with extensive experience in leadership and business development. Currently serving as Vice President of Business Development for Follett Software since December 2023, Hensley previously held the role of CEO at Livingtree, which was acquired by Follett, overseeing the launch of innovative K-12 engagement products. Hensley also served as CEO of Edbacker, focusing on addressing educational funding gaps through technology. Earlier positions include Director of Product Management at Pearson Knowledge Technologies and Director of Student Growth at Pearson Education, where Hensley contributed to the development of early warning systems and strategic partnerships. Additionally, Hensley has a background in school administration as an Assistant Principal and Dean of Students, complemented by teaching experience in middle school science. Hensley holds an MA in Educational Leadership from California State University, Fullerton, and a BS in Science Education from East Carolina University.
