Bas van Beek

Bas van Beek is an experienced professional in investigative journalism and social work, currently serving as a member of the Woo-werkgroep at VVOJ and as an Information Specialist at Follow the Money since 2020. Additionally, Bas is a lecturer in transparency rights and investigative journalism at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and has been an Investigative Reporter for the Platform Authentieke Journalistiek since 2013. Previous roles include Assistant to Wob Expert Roger Vleugels, freelance researcher at SOMO and Transnational Institute, and various positions in social services, including Senior Shelter Warden and Senior Social Worker. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Conflict Studies and Human Rights and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Utrecht University, alongside qualifications in History Teacher Education and Social Care Work.
