Fabio Pianesi

Chief Strategy Officer For European Affairs at Fondazione Bruno Kessler - FBK

Fabio Pianesi has a diverse work experience starting from 1988 when they joined Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), where they have served as the Chief Strategy Officer for European Affairs since 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles including Research Scientist and Head of CCT (Cognitive and Communication Technologies) Division. Fabio also worked as the Acting Head of CCT Division from 1998 to 2001.

In 2010, Fabio joined EIT ICT Labs Italy as Vice President and later took on the role of Co-Location Manager at EIT Digital until 2013. Fabio then became the Head of External Collaboration at EIT Digital, where they coordinated the ARISE Europe program and facilitated collaborations with EU agencies.

Furthermore, Fabio served as a Member of EIT Digital Supervisory Board starting from 2021. Fabio also held the position of Research Director at EIT Digital, where they supervised the organization's involvement and projects in H2020.

Aside from their work at research institutions, Fabio Pianesi was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Trento, teaching a course on Cognitive Ergonomics from 2005 to 2017. Fabio also chaired the Board of Directors at CELCT (Centre for the Evaluation of Language and Communication Technologies) from 2004 to 2010.

Most recently, Fabio's expertise has focused on strategizing and driving European affairs at FBK, contributing to the organization's goals and initiatives in this field.

Fabio Pianesi obtained a master's degree in Psychology from the University of Rome between 1977 and 1980. Fabio further specialized in Computer Science by completing a specialization program at the University of Rome from 1984 to 1986.
