Michela Palmisano is an accomplished regulatory affairs professional with extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as CMC Regulatory Affairs Senior Manager at Fondazione Telethon since April 2022, Michela manages regulatory and quality activities for gene therapy, supporting EU/US regulatory strategies and overseeing CMC submissions. Concurrently, Michela works as a European Quality Expert for ATMPs at the European Medicines Agency and engages in teaching at the University of Pavia and University of Piemonte Orientale. Previous roles include leading regulatory affairs at Thermo Fisher Scientific, managing ATMP regulatory activities at AGC Biologics, and overseeing quality compliance at MolMed. With a solid foundation in molecular medicine and biotechnology, supported by a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Management, Michela has demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and scientific research throughout a robust career spanning over 15 years.

Fondazione Telethon
Founded in 1990, Telethon Italy is one of the biggest biomedical charity in Italy, whose mission is to advance biomedical research towards the diagnosis, cure and prevention of muscular dystrophies and other human genetic diseases. Telethon Italy focuses on scientific research and does not offer healthcare, material assistance to patients and families or advocacy. Since 1991, Telethon Italy has invested 394 million Euros in research and funded 2,477 research projects on more than 445 human genetic diseases, which range from basic research to clinical trials.
