Stefano Zancan has extensive experience in clinical development and operations, currently serving as the Head of Clinical Development and Head of the Just Like Home program at Fondazione Telethon since April 2015, where responsibilities include leading and managing clinical trials in collaboration with Telethon Research Institutes. Prior to this role, Stefano Zancan was the Head of Clinical Operations & Training at NVGH Novartis, where the focus was on executing clinical trials efficiently while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. At Aptuit Verona, Stefano Zancan led a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design and implementation of clinical studies. Additionally, at GlaxoSmithKline, Stefano Zancan managed various aspects of clinical operations and contributed to the scientific coordination of clinical studies. Stefano Zancan holds a degree from the University of Parma, obtained between 1983 and 1988.

Founded in 1990, Telethon Italy is one of the biggest biomedical charity in Italy, whose mission is to advance biomedical research towards the diagnosis, cure and prevention of muscular dystrophies and other human genetic diseases. Telethon Italy focuses on scientific research and does not offer healthcare, material assistance to patients and families or advocacy. Since 1991, Telethon Italy has invested 394 million Euros in research and funded 2,477 research projects on more than 445 human genetic diseases, which range from basic research to clinical trials.
