Elma Drayer is an experienced journalist and writer with a diverse portfolio spanning various prominent roles. Currently, Elma serves as an advisor for Fonds Bijzondere Journalistieke Projecten and as a columnist and reviewer for de Volkskrant. Elma also operates as a freelance journalist and editor since 2010. In addition to these positions, Elma has been a Senior Trainer at De Argumentenfabriek Denkacademie since 2011, and previously held a notable role as an essayist at Vrij Nederland from 2010 to 2016. Elma's early career includes a significant tenure at Trouw from 2001 to 2014, where Elma was a columnist and the head of Letter&Geest. Elma contributed to the collected works of Karel van het Reve from 2005 to 2011 as a co-editor. Elma's foundational education was completed at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where Elma earned a degree in Nederlandse Taal- en Letterkunde.
