Diethard Monbaliu

Diethard Monbaliu, MD, PhD, is a senior researcher at Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) since October 2015 and has served as an associate professor of surgery at KU Leuven since 2008. As the founder of Transplantoux since June 2008, Diethard Monbaliu has contributed significantly to the field of transplantation. Previously, from September 2002 to April 2023, Diethard Monbaliu worked as an abdominal transplant surgeon at UZ Leuven. Diethard Monbaliu holds a PhD in Medicine from KU Leuven and an MD from the Faculty of Medicine at KU Leuven, alongside a high school diploma from Onze Lieve Vrouwe College Oostende.
