Isabelle Verbaeys has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Isabelle started their career in 2003 as a Monitor & Evaluation Manager for economic development at NGO Balkanactie van de Gemeenten in Kosovo. In this role, they were responsible for planning and implementing monitoring and evaluation of the agricultural program, as well as communicating and aligning the needs of international stakeholders.

In 2004, Isabelle joined KU Leuven as a Research Scientist. Isabelle successfully obtained their PhD in 2009, focusing on the influence of Pegylated cholecystokinin, meal feeding, and ghrelin on the energy balance in rats.

From 2011 to 2014, Isabelle worked at Research Foundation Flanders - FWO.
