Prathima Murthy is an experienced finance professional with a comprehensive background in accounting and financial analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Financial Analyst at Food Allergy Research & Education since August 2019, Prathima previously held roles as a Senior Accountant at Navient, where responsibilities included accounting for student loan assets and financial reporting. Earlier experience includes positions as an Accountant at ServicePower, Accounting Manager at Urban Investment Partners, and Finance Manager at Symphony Services, among others, showcasing expertise in accounts receivable, accounts payable, compliance with GAAP, and financial reporting. Prathima holds an MBA in Finance from Symbiosis International University and two Master’s degrees in Commerce from Bangalore University.

FARE works on behalf of the 32 million Americans who have food allergies, including all those at risk for life-threatening anaphylaxis. This potentially deadly disease affects 1 in every 13 children in the United States – or roughly 2 in every classroom. FARE was formed in 2012 as the result of a merger between the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network and the Food Allergy Initiative. FARE’s mission is to improve the quality of LIFE and the HEALTH of individuals with food allergies, and to provide them HOPE through the promise of new treatments. We do this by funding providing evidence-based education and resources, undertaking advocacy at all levels of government, increasing awareness of food allergy as potentially life-threatening and a growing public health issue and by investing in world-class research that advances treatment and understanding of the disease.
