Paul Cathala is a seasoned policy analyst and evaluation expert with extensive experience in agricultural public policy and monitoring. Currently serving as a Policy Analyst at the FAO's Investment Center since January 2024, Paul focuses on country-level agriculture policy monitoring in Mauritania and Sierra Leone. Previously, Paul led the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Department at One Acre Fund in Malawi, overseeing a team of over 60 staff and conducting comprehensive survey analyses. Other notable roles include serving as a MEL consultant for One Acre Fund Ethiopia and a Policy Analyst at the FAO's MAFAP Programme, where Paul monitored food and agricultural policies for Burundi and Ghana. Educationally, Paul holds dual Master's degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Hohenheim and Agronomy from AgroParisTech.
