Andrea Maron has extensive experience in communications, public relations, and grant management. Since 2011, Andrea has served as the Manager of Foundation Relations at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, focusing on securing financial support from various entities to enhance operations and programs. Prior to this role, Andrea was the Publications Editor and later Editor at NC Advocates for Justice, overseeing legal publications and content development. Andrea also held the position of Editor and Director of Communications & Public Relations at the NC Retail Merchants Association, where responsibilities included producing newsletters and managing government relations. Earlier experience includes analyses and legislative support roles at the American College of Surgeons and with United States Senator Terry Sanford. Andrea holds a B.A. in International Studies (cum laude) from Meredith College and has a minor in Politics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (the Food Bank) is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for their friends and neighbors facing hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for nearly 40 years. The Food Bank is an affiliate member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity. In terms of total food distributed, the Food Bank ranks in the top 15 nationally among 200 Feeding America food banks and first in North Carolina. Their food distribution programs and child nutrition programs are based on national models.
