Karen Senger, CFRE, CSPG, serves as the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada since August 2020, where responsibilities include developing and executing a responsive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals. Previous roles include Director of Development and Grants Manager at the same organization, and Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Community Foundation of Western Nevada, demonstrating a strong track record of exceeding fundraising goals and managing grant proposals. Karen has also provided fundraising support as a contractor for The Blueprint Collaborative and has experience as Development Director at Sierra Nevada Journeys, where fundraising revenue increased significantly. Earlier professional experience includes strategic planning and marketing roles at IGT and Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. Karen holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Southern Methodist University.

OUR MISSION: Feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership. The Food Bank of Northern Nevada provides emergency food services to families through a network of more than 155 partner agencies in a 90,000 square mile service area throughout northern Nevada and the eastern slope of the sierra in California. We serve more than 137,000 people each month, nearly half of whom are children and seniors. Last fiscal year, we provided more than 17 million meals to neighbors in need. The Food Bank also plays a leading role in collaborating with other committed northern Nevada community members and organizations to address the root causes of hunger. The Food Bank incorporated in 1983 and has operated as a 501C3 non-profit organization for 40 years. We have grown from a small pantry to a regional distribution center helping many families who struggle with hunger. We are a proud member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks.
