Melanie Barkley

Melanie Barkley, GPC (Kauffman), is a seasoned grants manager with extensive experience in fund development and grant writing. Currently serving as Grants Manager at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada since June 2022, Melanie supports revenue generation through diverse funding sources and collaborates with the Development Team on donor relationships. Previous roles include Grant Writer and Program Evaluator at Nevada Urban Indians, Inc., and Director of Development at Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, where Melanie facilitated financial resource acquisition across a broad service region. As Executive Director at Family TIES of Nevada and Arts For the Schools, Melanie oversaw operations, fundraising, and significant revenue increases. Notable accomplishments also include securing over $1.4 million in grant revenue as Program Director and Fund Development Director at Sierra Community House and managing multiple grants as a Grants Compliance Officer at Plumas County Department of Health Services. Melanie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.
