Lucy Thoms is an experienced professional in grants management and development, currently serving as the Grants Manager at Food Bank of the Rockies since June 2023. Previously, Lucy held the position of Director of Foundation Relations at Hawaii Foodbank and Bishop Museum, where significant fundraising initiatives were undertaken. Experience as Development Director at Clear Creek County Library District involved managing development and marketing efforts, including grant applications and fundraising strategies. Earlier roles include Digital Communications Specialist at P.E.O. International, Editorial Assistant at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, and Community Development Specialist for the City of Grinnell, where successful grant applications and community planning projects were executed. Lucy holds a Master’s Degree in Publishing from Oxford Brookes University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from Central College.
Food Bank of the Rockies
Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) was founded in 1978 and was known as the Colorado Food Clearing House. Operating from a 900-square-foot schoolroom in northwest Denver, the fledgling organization collected food from nearby Safeway stores and distributed it to one agency. Today, FBR has extended its reach across Northern Colorado and Wyoming, providing food supplies to more than 600 hunger-relief programs. Since 1978, FBR has provided food for families in need. Last year, we distributed nearly 49 million meals, enough to provide more than 134,000 meals each day. Food Bank of the Rockies is a BBB accredited charity and holds a 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator. 96¢ of every dollar we receive goes toward our hunger relief programs.
