Mark Weslar currently serves as the Director of Food Sourcing at Food Bank of the Rockies, leading food sourcing initiatives, including a food rescue program, and accounting for over 80% of distributed food, equivalent to more than 67 million meals for individuals facing food insecurity. Prior to this role, Mark was a Food Rescue Manager at the same organization, securing over 48 million pounds of food annually. Mark's experience includes entrepreneurial work as an independent distributor for Missions Foods, achieving top performance in San Diego, and significant marketing leadership positions at Karl Strauss Brewing Company and Molson Coors, where strategic efforts led to notable revenue increases and brand growth. Mark holds an MBA in Marketing from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business and a BA in Economics from Colorado College.
Food Bank of the Rockies
Food Bank of the Rockies (FBR) was founded in 1978 and was known as the Colorado Food Clearing House. Operating from a 900-square-foot schoolroom in northwest Denver, the fledgling organization collected food from nearby Safeway stores and distributed it to one agency. Today, FBR has extended its reach across Northern Colorado and Wyoming, providing food supplies to more than 600 hunger-relief programs. Since 1978, FBR has provided food for families in need. Last year, we distributed nearly 49 million meals, enough to provide more than 134,000 meals each day. Food Bank of the Rockies is a BBB accredited charity and holds a 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator. 96¢ of every dollar we receive goes toward our hunger relief programs.
