Wayne Anderson

Director Food Science And Standards at Food Safety Authority of Ireland

Wayne Anderson has a diverse work experience in the food industry. Wayne is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Food and Health, University College Dublin, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland as the Director of Food Science and Standards from 1999 until now. In this role, they were responsible for maintaining and developing the science base of the organization in areas such as Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Safety, and Nutrition. Wayne was also a member of the Senior Leadership team, reporting to the CEO. Wayne Anderson has also worked as a Technical Manager at Leitrim Foods from 1998 to 1999 and as a Research Manager at Unilever from 1988 to 1998.

Wayne Anderson received a Ph.D. in Food Microbiology from Reading University, which they completed between 1992 and 1997. Prior to that, between 1984 and 1988, they obtained a BSc (Hons) Combined Science majoring in Biochemistry from Coventry University.
