Rebeca Fernández Fernández has extensive experience in food policy, science, and research, currently serving as Director of Food Policy, Science and R&D at FoodDrinkEurope since September 2014, with responsibilities including management of European research projects and coordination of the European Technology Platform "Food for Life." Previous roles include a Blue Book Trainee at the Directorate General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission and Project Manager at Infobotica Research Group, where Rebeca focused on funding opportunities and scientific proposals. Academic credentials include a PhD in Plant Biology, a Master's in Food Biotechnology, and a Bachelor's in Biology, all from Universidad de Oviedo, where Rebeca also worked as an Assistant Lecturer and Researcher.
