Catherine Waechter

Embedded systems engineer at FoodMarble

Catherine Waechter has been working in the engineering and hospitality industries since 2018. Catherine began as a Receptionist at Roxford Lodge Hotel in 2018, where they welcomed guests to the hotel and assisted them by phone and email, as well as processed payments and carried out daily administrative tasks. In 2019, they became a University Program Intern at Xilinx, where they developed an encryption module for Zynq using Vivado High Level Synthesis in C and C++, simulated and debugged the IP by analysing waveforms in Vivado, and developed iPython notebooks to demonstrate the IP and how tasks can be accelerated for Zynq. In 2018, they also took on the role of Secretary and Auditor at UCD Electrical & Electronic Engineering Society, where they chaired meetings with a committee of 10, acted as a point of contact for committee members, faculty and external companies, and offered mentorship and provided opportunities for members to take on leadership roles in events throughout the year. In 2020 and 2021, they worked as a Product Design Intern at FoodMarble, and in 2017 they were a Senior Student Ambassador at University College Dublin, where they promoted the university at events and on campus tours, and communicated with groups of students (current and prospective), parents and staff.

Catherine Waechter has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University College Dublin (2016-2021), a High School Diploma from East Pennsboro Area Senior High School (2014-2016), and attendance at Lycée International des Pontonniers (2013-2014).
