Akshay Prabhu

Akshay Prabhu has a diverse work experience background. In 2019, they worked as the CEO of Foodnome, a web platform that allows home-based cooks to operate and market their own home restaurants. Akshay aimed to revolutionize traditional food systems by promoting local, authentic, homemade meals and fostering connections through dining experiences. Prior to this, Akshay served as a Clinical Researcher at UC Davis Medical Center from 2017 to 2018. In this role, they conducted research in the operating room, focusing on awake brain surgery patients and conducting experiments related to EEG analysis, spike sorting, PET analysis, and patient consenting. Earlier, from 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Project Lead at the Center for Neuroscience. Akshay engaged in multidisciplinary research exploring how the brain analyzes sounds, how attention affects neural analysis, and how this process leads to decisions and actions in response to sound. At Asucd Bike Barn, from 2012 to 2015, Akshay held the position of Manager. Akshay successfully handled the management of the busiest bike shop in the country, overseeing repairs, training new employees, managing workflow, conducting sales transactions, and nurturing customer relationships.

Akshay Prabhu attended the University of California, Davis from 2011 to 2015. During this time, they pursued a degree in Neurobiology Physiology and Behavior, with a focus on Neuroscience.
