Dane Vishnubala currently serves as Chief Medical Officer for The Rugby Football League and Volleyball England, while also holding the position of Managing Director at Yorkshire Sports Medicine Clinic. In academia, Dane holds the role of Visiting Professor in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Derby and acts as Academic Clinical Lead for the MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine and PG Cert Musculoskeletal Medicine at the University of Leeds. Additionally, Dane is a Consultant Physician in Sport and Exercise Medicine for the UK Ministry of Defence and contributes to Basketball England and the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine in various capacities. Dane is also the Associate Editor for BMJ Open SEM and has extensive clinical experience as an out-of-hours General Practitioner with Vocare Group. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of York and multiple degrees in medical education and sports medicine from prestigious institutions, including Cardiff University and the University of Nottingham.
