Football Beyond Borders

Football Beyond Borders is a UK registered charity which uses the power of football to transform the lives of children and young adults inside and outside full-time education. Our FBB Schools initiative works with Primary, Secondary and Further Education schools & colleges to engage and support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds experiencing behaviour and academic performance challenges. The young people we work with, 95% of whom are eligible for free school meals, are passionate about football but are underperforming academically. We harness their passion for football and give them the intensive, long term support to overcome their challenges and succeed at school and in life. We work very closely with our partner schools to tailor our delivery for the most beneficial outcomes. The high standards of coaching, tutoring and mentoring within and beyond the classroom environment, combined with the travel element of the Football Beyond Borders delivery, tackles the detrimental effects of limited budgets in education and the results of economic and social disadvantage. Our coaches and mentors are all FA qualified including Emergency 1st Aid & Safeguarding Children. The educational element of our delivery involves a full commitment to the educational and social development of the young people. Alongside this, our young people, are provided with a pathway into the professional game, including but not limited to, becoming qualified coaches, sports journalists and mentors themselves.
