Kamau Birago has extensive experience in academia, serving as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at De Anza College since 2008. Prior to this role, Kamau was an Assistant Professor at Connecticut College from August 2000 to June 2006 and held a position as Adjunct Faculty at California State University, Hayward from September 1999 to June 2000. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts and PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley (1989-2000), a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1978-1982), and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine (1974-1978).
