Xavier Henderson is a seasoned nonprofit leader and educator with extensive experience in community development and leadership roles. As Co-founder and Chief Development Officer at For Oak Cliff since February 2019, Xavier has driven initiatives to empower local communities. Previous experience includes serving as a Fellow at Echoing Green and holding managerial positions at Teach For America, where responsibilities ranged from collective leadership to facilitation at the Dallas-Fort Worth Summer Institute. Xavier also contributed to the Dallas Independent School District and Texas Instruments in various capacities, further enhancing skills in policy, advocacy, and technical writing. Academically, Xavier holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Columbia University, a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas.

We are a culturally responsive organization serving the South Oak Cliff community. Education, Advocacy, Community Building and Art are the pillars we use to develop various programs with our community. For Oak Cliff believes in 2-Gen, so we focus on creating opportunities for and addressing the needs of both children and the adults in their lives together with the aim of increasing social mobility and social capital.
