Sashidhar Jonnalagedda

Sashidhar Jonnalagedda has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Sashidhar co-founded SurgiBox Inc., a medical device company, where they served as the Chief Data Officer and Quality Assurance/Regulatory Affairs Lead. Sashidhar also played a key role in the business development of SurgiBox, focusing on bringing safe surgery to low-resource settings.

Additionally, Sashidhar worked as a Consultant for SolidarMed, a social enterprise in Mozambique, where they were involved in launching ventures that aimed to empower local entrepreneurs and provide free transportation for pregnant women to hospitals. Sashidhar also worked as a Project Manager and Teaching Assistant at the EssentialTech Centre, where they taught a master class on Development Engineering.

Furthermore, Sashidhar has experience working with reputable organizations such as the World Health Organization, where they worked as a Project Consultant in the Maternal and Child Health service package. Sashidhar was responsible for mapping out required medical devices, assessing their energy requirements, and developing a software tool to calculate energy needs for different hospital scenarios.

Sashidhar has also worked as an Electrical Engineer at EPFL, where they conducted research on optimizing unreliable grid connected hospital microgrids. At the International Committee of the Red Cross, Sashidhar contributed to drafting an energy audit protocol for hospitals in developing countries.

Earlier in their career, Sashidhar worked as an Energy Research Intern at EssentialMed, conducting interviews with hospital staff and developing a statistical model for simulating hospital electrical networks in Cameroon. Sashidhar also has experience as a Calculus Teaching Assistant at EPFL.

Outside of their technical work, Sashidhar has demonstrated skills in web development as a Webmaster for Jazz sur la Plage, where they conceptualized, developed, and maintained an interactive website for a summer festival in Geneva.

Sashidhar Jonnalagedda's education history begins with their high school education at Collège de Candolle from 2006 to 2010. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Architecture at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2010 to 2011. Sashidhar then shifted their focus and earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from EPFL from 2011 to 2014. Building upon their undergraduate studies, they went on to complete a Master's degree in Smart Grid Science and Technology at EPFL from 2014 to 2016.
