Curtis Sparrer serves as the President of the San Francisco Press Club since January 2021, where the organization promotes excellence in journalism through grants, recognition, scholarships, and training for media professionals and students in the Greater Bay Area. In addition, Curtis holds a position as an Official Member of the Forbes Communications Council since March 2017 and has been a Principal at Bospar since January 2015. Curtis has a robust background in media, having served as Senior Vice President at Grayling from May 2008 to December 2014, and as Executive Producer at KRON from September 2004 to May 2008. Early in the career, Curtis produced segments at KHOU-TV and WTOL-TV, reported for PlanetOut Partners, and contributed as a writer for OutSmart. Curtis earned a BA, BS in Radio Television Film, and Plan II from The University of Texas at Austin, where studies were completed from 1993 to 1998, along with a high school diploma in College Prep from Talented and Gifted High School.
