Gilles Van Tienderen

Gilles joined the Forbion team in March 2023 as a Fellow after working as a PhD student at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. During his PhD he focused on the development of organoid-based preclinical models of liver cancer to gain novel fundamental insights into tumor biology and advance personalized medicine applications.

Gilles has published more than 10 papers in high impact journals such as Cancer Cell and Cell Stem Cell. Before his PhD, he gained experience in assessing life science-related companies as an equity research intern in the life sciences department at Van Lanschot Kempen.

Gilles also holds a double degree (MSc and MPhil) in Biofabrication from the University of Utrecht and University of Wollongong (Australia), and a BSc from University College Utrecht with a major in Science.
