Julia W.

Julia W. has a diverse work experience in the banking and financial sector. Julia started their career at CapitalSource in 2006 as a Senior Help Desk Technician, where they worked until 2012. During this time, they also served as an eDiscovery Specialist and a Network Engineer. In 2014, Julia joined Pacific Western Bank as a System Administrator and later became an Assistant Systems Manager. In 2016, they moved to Forbright Bank, where they initially held the role of VP, Senior Cybersecurity, and Systems Administrator. Currently, they serve as the SVP, Chief Information Security Officer at Forbright Bank.

Julia W. attended the University of Maryland from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Resource Economics. Julia then pursued further education at the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University from 2007 to 2009, earning a Master of Information Systems (MIS) degree with a specialization in Information Systems.

In addition to their degrees, Julia W. has obtained several certifications in the field of information security and technology. In 2011, they became an EnCase Certified Examiner, certified by Guidance Software, Inc. Julia later achieved the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council in 2018, followed by the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in 2017. Julia W. also obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from GIAC Certifications in 2019 and the GIAC Enterprise Vulnerability Assessor (GEVA) certification from the same institution in 2020.

Furthermore, they earned the Certified Cyber Threat Hunting Professional certification from IACRB in 2021 and the Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) certification from EC-Council in 2023.
