Vice President, Public Policy at FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered

Lisa Schlager has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 1989, they worked as a Public Affairs Associate at FleishmanHillard before transitioning to Director of Public Relations at B'nai B'rith Youth Organization in 1990. From 1992 to 1997, they served as the Manager of Marketing Communications at LEGI-SLATE, Inc. Following this, they worked as an Independent Marketing Manager at The Weathersby Group from 1998 to 2000. At the same time, they also held the position of Principal at ImageWorks, Inc. until 2003. Finally, since 2008, they have taken on the role of Vice President of Public Policy at FORCE: Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered, a national nonprofit organization focused on hereditary cancers.

Lisa Schlager attended the University of Maryland from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. In 1992, they further pursued their education at The George Washington University, where they enrolled in graduate level coursework in Public Affairs for the academic year 1992-1993.

FORCE Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the millions of individuals and families facing hereditary breast, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, colorectal and endometrial cancers. Our community includes people with a BRCA, ATM, PALB2, CHEK2, PTEN or other inherited gene mutation and those diagnosed with Lynch syndrome. We accomplish this through our education, support, advocacy and research efforts. We are dedicated to providing up-to-date, expert-reviewed information and resources that help people make informed medical decisions.
