Mahesh Mungi

Mahesh Mungi has over 29 years of work experience in the automotive industry. Mahesh currently works at Force Motors Ltd as the Head of Cab Design and Body Engineering, overseeing various design teams for SUVs, vans, buses, trucks, and EVs for both domestic and international markets. Mahesh is skilled in developing innovative conceptual designs and is also responsible for material recyclability initiatives.

Prior to joining Force Motors Ltd, Mahesh worked at Ashok Leyland as the Head of Department for Product Development and Cab Design. Mahesh successfully delivered multiple projects in truck and bus design, and is currently working on a major SCV development and a bus design project.

Mahesh also has experience at Tata Motors/Tata Technologies, where they worked as a Program Manager and Assistant General Manager. Mahesh made significant contributions to the design and analysis of various commercial vehicles, including SCVs, passenger vans, light commercial vehicles, and mine protected vehicles. During their time there, they applied for and received multiple patents.

Before joining Tata Motors, Mahesh worked at Mahindra and IDAM as a Manager, where they were involved in product planning, design and development, process improvement, and led a team for crash and safety. Mahesh successfully conceptualized an SCV platform and delivered an SUV for crash and durability testing.

Additionally, Mahesh has previous experience at Tata Technologies/TCS, where they served as a Project Manager and Divisional Manager for cab design, CAE, and crash and safety. Mahesh was responsible for design and development of commercial vehicles, including managing innovation for the team and applying for patents.

Mahesh started their career at IIT Kanpur, CSIR as a Junior Research Fellow, where they conducted finite element analysis and code development for forging under the guidance of Dr. P.M. Dixit. Mahesh also developed a post-processor using C language for reviewing nonlinear simulations.

Mahesh began their professional journey at Premier Automobiles Ltd, where they worked as a Senior Engineer in the tool design and process engineering department. Mahesh was involved in CNC programming and worked on a business process reengineering project to optimize design and development activities.

Overall, Mahesh Mungi has a diverse background in the automotive industry, with experience in design, development, analysis, and management of various vehicle projects.

Mahesh Mungi completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Govt. College of Engineering pu from 1989 to 1993. Mahesh then pursued a Master in Management Science (MBA) in operational management from Savitribai Phule Pune University from 1993 to 1996. Later, they obtained a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering Related Technologies/Technicians from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 1997 to 1999.
