Petri Ihalainen

Petri Ihalainen has over 30 years of work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Petri is currently working as a Senior Mechanics Engineer at FORCIOT since April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at FY-Composites Oy as a Senior Design Engineer from September 2017 to April 2022. Petri also gained experience at Microsoft as an Engineer II in Mechanical Engineering from March 2014 to November 2015, where they worked with textile-plastic combinations with electronics. Earlier in their career, Petri worked at Nokia as a Specialist in Mechanics Design from August 2008 to March 2014, where they focused on the mechanical build-up of handheld electronic devices and worked extensively with Far-Eastern companies. Before that, they worked at Rejlers as a Design Engineer, focusing on mechanical drawings of heavy shipyard lifting equipment and developing new concepts for copper refining electrolysis equipment. Petri's career in Nokia began in 2000, where they held various roles including Teamleader/Project Manager and Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer, leading a mechanics engineering team and working on new concepts of handheld devices. Prior to their tenure at Nokia, they worked at Tampere University of Technology as a Research Assistant/Researcher and at Keski-Suomen suunnittelu- ja projekti-insinöörit oy as a Design Engineer.

Petri Ihalainen has a strong education history in the field of engineering. Petri obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jyväskylä Institute of Technology, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Following their bachelor's degree, they pursued further studies in Materials Engineering (Plastics) at Tampere University of Technology from 1991 to 1995, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree.

In addition to their formal education, Petri Ihalainen has also obtained various certifications throughout their career. These include "Building Resilience as a Leader," "Critical Thinking," "Getting into the Mind of the Hiring Manager," and "Strategic Thinking," which were all obtained from LinkedIn. Petri completed the "3D-tulostuksen osaaja -koulutuksen Basic-taso" training from Ideascout Oy in November 2016. Furthermore, they obtained the "Six-Sigma Greenbelt" certification from Nokia in May 2014.
