Senior Director, External Partnerships And Engagement at Fordham University

Fernando Montejo serves as the Senior Director of External Partnerships and Engagement at Fordham University since May 2025. Prior to this role, Fernando held various positions at the New York City Economic Development Corporation from 2020 to May 2025, including Vice President and Assistant Vice President, where significant initiatives such as Venture Access NYC and the NYC Founder Fellowship were developed to foster an inclusive tech ecosystem. Fernando also contributed to the MIT initiative Solve as a Senior Economic Prosperity Officer from 2017 to 2020, connecting social entrepreneurs with various stakeholders to tackle challenges in education and health. Earlier experience includes serving as a Global Policy Fellow at the Instituto de Tecnologia & Sociedade do Rio de Janeiro, where research focused on civic engagement amidst socioeconomic challenges, and as an advisor at the New York City Housing Authority, among other roles. Fernando holds a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University.
