Ken Kalina

Fund CCO/Director at Foreside Financial Group

Ken Kalina has extensive experience in the financial industry, with a focus on compliance and accounting. Ken started their career as a Senior Accountant at Ernst & Young, where they worked in the financial services industry. After that, they joined SteinRoe Mutual Funds as Treasurer, and later moved to Columbia Wanger Asset Management, where they served as Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer.

In 2005, Ken joined Henderson Global Funds as Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for compliance matters related to the investment adviser, mutual fund complex, hedge funds, and real estate investment companies. Ken developed a high-end, risk-based compliance program that contributed to significant growth in assets under management.

Ken then joined Foreside Financial Group, LLC in 2017 as Fund CCO/Director. In this role, they served as the Chief Compliance Officer for registered investment company clients, including open-end mutual funds and exchange traded funds. Ken also provided compliance consulting services to large institutions regarding exchange traded funds and mutual funds.

Throughout their career, Ken has been instrumental in developing and implementing compliance programs, assessing and monitoring policies and procedures, and reporting directly to boards of trustees and senior management. Ken has a strong background in financial auditing and has worked with clients in various industries, including investment companies, banking, savings and loans, and commercial industries.

Ken Kalina attended Wabash College from 1977 to 1981, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Ken then pursued further education at the University of Notre Dame, from 1981 to 1983, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Accounting/Finance.
