Satya P. Chinta

Senior Researcher & Program Manager at Foresight Science & Technology

Dr. Satya Chinta has a Doctoral and International master's degree in organic chemistry from TU-Braunschweig, Germany specializing in natural product chemistry, and Post-doctorate studies from the University of California-Riverside and the University of Florida, Gainesville. Dr. Chinta has published over 15 articles in international journals, 1 US patent pending (U.S. Patent Application Serial No. 15/908,105, Filed: 02/28/2018, USDA Docket No. 0076.17), more than 30 scientific presentations at national & international conferences, over 11 years of experience in isolation, identification and synthesis of biologically active natural products from agriculturally influential arthropod pest species/nematodes involving synthetic organic chemistry approaches along with dealing and handling all the analytical instruments like GC, GC-MS, HPLC, LC-MS, NMR (1D, 2D), etc. as required.

He is currently working as Principal Investigator at Foresight Science & Technology in Collaboration with USDA Agricultural Research Service, 1600 SW 23rd Dr., Gainesville, FL, 32608 in Assistance with CRADA on the project “Biologically-based Material and Method for Control of Invasive Fire Ants” (SBIR Phase 1 Grant Number: GRANT12013449, Award Number: 2016-33610-25482 and SBIR Phase 2 Grant Number: GRANT12356096, Award Number: 2017-33610-27302. The goal of this project is to develop a novel biologically-based method to manage invasive and native pest red imported fire ants (RIFA) "Solenopsis Invicta," populations that infest over 140 million hectares in the USA with a direct impact on crops, livestock, nurseries, sod producers; electronics, communications, and airports; households; and other economic sectors. The red imported fire ant, Solenopsis Invicta, is the model invasive pest ant for the project.
