Vik Bajaj

Vik Bajaj has a diverse work experience in various industries and positions. Vik is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of Foresite Labs, a position they have held since October 2018. Prior to that, they worked as the Managing Director at Foresite Capital Management from September 2017.

Before entering the investment field, Vik Bajaj had a career in academia and research. Vik served as a (Consulting) Associate Professor of Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine starting from September 2014. Additionally, they were a Research Scientist (Principal Investigator) at UC Berkeley from 2011 to 2015 and a Proj. Scientist (Principal Investigator) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 2011 until August 2021.

Vik Bajaj also has experience in the biotechnology and healthcare industries. Vik worked at GRAIL, Inc. as both a Chief Scientific Officer from September 2016 to September 2017 and a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board from September 2017 to August 2021. Vik was also the Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Verily (formerly Google Life Sciences) from April 2013 to September 2016. In addition, they held the position of Chair of the Science Board at Verily from September 2016 to September 2017.

Further, Vik Bajaj has been involved in the startup sector. Vik co-founded SkinScan Inc. in August 2010 and served as a Co-Founder until June 2015. Vik also had a role in the public sector, as a Member of the Economic Development Board for The City of El Cerrito from September 2012 to November 2014. Additionally, they served as an Advisory Board Member for the College of Chemistry at UC Berkeley from February 2015 to August 2021.

Vik Bajaj has a strong educational background in the field of science. Vik earned a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Following their doctoral studies, they pursued further research as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, Vik holds a B.A./M.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.

In addition to their academic achievements, Vik has obtained certifications in various fields. Vik is a certified Commercial Aircraft Pilot with ratings in Airplane Single Engine Land, Airplane Single Engine Seaplane, and Instrument Airplane, issued by the Federal Aviation Administration. Vik also holds certifications such as KA3B from the Federal Communications Commission and VE3BSV from the Government of Canada.
